Cowabunga dude! uShaka is calling all kiddies to come dressed up as their favourite cartoon character and stand a chance to win cool prizes. Choose from the Minion’s, Spongebob, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Barbie, Teen Titans, Frozen or whoever you’d like to be for a day, because uShaka Marine World is amping things up again this year with a fun-packed uShaka Kids World Festival on Saturday, March 5th from 9am to 4pm.
With so many activities set up throughout the day, the little ones are sure to be well entertained.
The lineup includes African Story telling in our Castaways Amphitheatre at 9:30am, magic, puppet and mascot shows at various times throughout the day, juggling at 2:30pm and a Mighty Voices singing show featuring some of Durban’s top up and coming singers at 2pm & 3:30pm. Plus, there’s also the opportunity for the kids to try their hand at something artistic in the Creative Corner with our Ocean Art Workshops as well as get their face painted at our painting stations.
For kids with a special skill for dancing, there will fun competitions to enter at the Castaways Amphitheatre stage, from a Limbo competition at 10:30am and a Dance competition at 3pm, or better yet, if they have a love for musical instruments they can also learn to play drums and percussions in the Duzi lounge at 1:30pm.
For the parents who tag-along, the Duzi lounge within the Duzi River Café offers a relaxing spot to sit back and relax whilst watching the kids having a ball.
Want in on the action? Standard entry fees apply at R70 per child under 12 and R23 for accompanying adults. Children under 2 are free. Plus, the first 1500 people who purchase tickets will receive a complimentary Dairymaid ice cream. (One ice cream per ticket purchased on a first come first served basis).
Kids are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite cartoon character, because those selected as “Best dressed” will stand in line to win a Play Pass to uShaka Kids World for a year. Plus there are also loads of other prizes up for grabs!
