DA eThekwini Mayoral Candidate, Haniff Hoosen, will unveil a powerful new billboard tomorrow.
The unveiling follows the removal of the DA’s previous water-accountability billboard and the subsequent court action brought by outgoing Mayor Cyril Xaba, Municipal Manager Musa Mbhele and Water and Sanitation Executive Director Ednick Msweli.
The Durban High Court order expressly preserved the DA’s right to hold these officials accountable for their performance, the state of eThekwini’s water infrastructure and the procurement and management of water tankers, including by asserting that they failed or were negligent in performing their functions.
Tomorrow, that accountability message returns to the streets of eThekwini.
The new billboard will deliver a direct election message about the outgoing administration’s record and the power residents have on 4 November to choose a DA-led government that will stop the chaos and start service delivery.
With approximately 13,000 active leaks, around 21 billion litres of water reportedly lost every month and communities still dependent on tankers, eThekwini cannot afford another five years of failed leadership.
