Quality Renishaw Hills’ construction sees Inyoni Homes CC win top award for third year in a row

Quality Renishaw Hills’ construction sees Inyoni Homes CC win top award for third year in a row:

Prioritising quality and investor value, Inyoni Homes CC has received yet another award for its construction of maisonettes at Renishaw Hills, the mature lifestyle village on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. This year saw them take home the Apartment/Townhouse Buildings Award for the Renishaw Hills Type B Maisonette in the under R20m category award as part of the Master Builders Association Excellence in Construction Awards, held at the Durban International Convention Centre on Friday, 18 October.

This is the third consecutive year that Inyoni Homes CC has been an award recipient for its Renishaw Hills’ constructions, a notable achievement for any organisation. Last year the team was named recipients for Renishaw Hills’ Maisonettes in the Apartment/Townhouse Buildings under R15m category; and in 2017, they won the Apartment/Townhouse Buildings above R15m category – alongside R&M Construction – for the construction of two show houses at Renishaw Hills.

Richard Crocker, Renishaw Hills Project Director, commended the Inyoni Homes CC for another well-deserved honour: “Whilst we, as developers, have always insisted on the highest standards of construction from our appointed builders, the receipt of this independent award by Inyoni Homes for the third time in a row clearly shows we have quality builders. This also indicates, most importantly, that we are selling a quality product that exceeds the market standard. The building industry is a very competitive one, and such an award gives our buyers comfort in the knowledge that they have the best product money can buy. Inyoni Homes and their appointed sub-contractors are to be commended for this achievement which is a result of consistent high quality and attention to detail.”

The Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Excellence in Construction programme is aimed at recognising and acknowledging excellence in building and construction. Launched in 2004, the excellence awards competition is open to all association members, and is a first of its kind for any South African Building Association. The adjudicators are industry veterans, consisting of a retired architect and two former managing directors of major contracting companies. Every entry project is carefully inspected and evaluated according to its standard of construction, with the overall quality of the end product assessed.

This year’s category award-winner at Renishaw Hills was the Maisonette Type B – two 160m² and 170m² apartments consisting of two bedrooms; a large open-plan living area opening onto a balcony or verandah with attached double garages. There are six of these units at Renishaw Hills which were completed between July 2018 and April 2019.

Commenting on the design, Nic Moussouris, owner of Inyoni Homes, said: “These maisonettes have a slightly more modern look which is quite different to the other units in the estate. With their lean-to roofs, unique cantilever-style balconies and the more typical open-plan living area, all add to the unit’s modern feel.”

He said that, being a construction award, they are evaluated on the quality of the building which he feels is part of Renishaw Hills’ ethos: “Renishaw Hills developers insist on producing a superior product which we have managed to consistently achieve.”

Inyoni Homes CC have constructed 88 units at Renishaw Hills – 17 of them still in progress – including the award-winning Maisonette A and Maisonette Bs, as well as a number of beautiful freestanding units.
