EThekwini Municipality Mayor, Councillor Cyril Xaba, will this week lead a high-level oversight inspection of critical sewer infrastructure, ongoing leaks and system blockages affecting multiple wards in KwaMashu.
The site visits, which begin tomorrow, follow an increasing number of water and sanitation challenges raised by residents, community groups and ward councillors, particularly regarding prolonged sewer-related problems in the area.
The inspection aims to assess the extent of the infrastructure damage, evaluate immediate intervention measures and ensure the deployment of plumbing contractor teams to address blockages and clear service backlogs.
