IFP welcomes fraud and corruption investigations

1 October 2013 by Alan

The IFP has welcomed the fraud and corruption investigations on National Empowerment Fund CEO, Philisiwe Mthethwa. IFP Spokesperson on Police said, “We commend the Minister of Trade and Industry for initiating this investigation. As the investigation will be conducted by the NEF board we hope that it will be conducted in a credible manner without fear, favour or prejudice. There should be no interruptions in this investigation; it should be conducted thoroughly and quickly. We expect full cooperation from those being investigated.”

The IFP also calls upon the Hawks to speed up the corruption and bribery investigations into a Gold Fields empowerment transaction involving ANC chairwoman, Baleka Mbete so that charges can be quickly instituted in the event that there are grounds for same.

Ndlovu concluded, “We hope that there will be no interruptions with these investigations as they involve people who are politically affiliated and connected within the elite echelons of the ruling party. This remains to be seen.”
