Dragons too strong for Hollywoodbets Dolphins – Featured Durban Blog

Dragons too strong for Hollywoodbets Dolphins:

Durban – A clinical bowling performance from the North West Dragons saw them beat the Hollywoodbets Dolphins in the CSA One Day Cup by 79 runs at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium on Friday.

Three half centuries in their innings and disciplined bowling proved the difference as they restricted the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to 181 all out.

A strong start from the Hollywoodbets Dolphins with the ball saw Kerwin Mungroo bag two wickets in the first five overs of the innings with Lesego Senokwane and Shaylen Pillay both back in the change room early.

From there the Dragons regrouped well through Heino Kuhn and Chris Britz with the pair putting on 83 for the third wicket before Kuhn was caught behind off the bowling of Andile Simelane for 58.

Senuran Muthusamy and Britz then continued the momentum that was created with a stand that was worth 102 runs with Britz making 81 before he was caught in the deep by Eathan Bosch off Ottniel Baartman with the total on 198 in the 44th over of their innings.

Muthusamy then put the Hollywoodbets Dolphins bowlers under pressure making 73 off 77 balls and he was the penultimate wicket to fall after the Dragons lost Delano Potgieter.

Mungroo bagged both Potgieter and Muthusamy to finish with career-best List-A figures of 4/31 as North West finished on 260/7 in their 50 overs.

It was a circumspect start from the Hollywoodbets Dolphins who got to just short of 50 in the first ten overs but had lost the wicket of Grant Roelofsen for six.

SJ Erwee did the bulk of the scoring and he went to his half century in short time but unfortunately for the Hollywoodbets Dolphins fell for 54.

TheHollywoodbets Dolphins lost Erwee and Bryce Parsons in quick succession and reached the 20 over mark on 93 for three.

Keegan Petersen and Khaya Zondo attempted to rebuild but Petersen fell to Caleb Seleka, becoming his second victim of the evening.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins then lost Jason Smith for three and they were 125 for five.

Eathan Bosch provided some resistance with Zondo however when he was bowled for 18 the Hollywoodbets Dolphins lost their final four wickets for 13 runs to fall to 181 all out.

Zondo proved a glimmer of hope when he went to a crucial half century but he was dismissed by Seleka for 50 – the leg-spinner finishing with figures of 4/20 in his ten overs.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins are in action on Monday when they face the Gbets Rocks at St George’s Park.
