Clifford Ireland, NSRI Durban station commander, said; “At 12h19 on Thursday 28 November, our NSRI Durban volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft MEGAN II to respond to assist following reports of a boat capsized with 4 men onboard at the South breakwater harbour entrance to the Port of Durban.
“A Police Sea Borderline boat, that responded, rescued all 4 men from the water and they were brought to shore where ER24 paramedics assessed them medically, they were not injured and they required no further assistance.
“Our NSRI sea rescue boat recovered their boat successfully.”
