Dance troupes specializing in Indlamu and uMzansi – the traditional dance most often associated with Zulu culture and based on warrior war dances – are invited to showcase their dancing skills and compete against each other on 7, 14, 21 November 2015! Registration for each event is at 9am with shows starting at 10am. Spectators are encouraged to support and share in the culture of the Zulu Kingdom.
Now is your chance! Only 12 of the best dance troupes will make it through to the exciting final on Sunday, 29th November 2015 to compete for a guaranteed working contract from December 2015 to November 2016, valued at R600 000 and the title of uShaka’ s resident Zulu Dance troupe. The dance troupe that takes first place is also in line for a R10 000 cash prize! Second and third placed troupes will receive cash prizes of R 8000 and R5000 respectively.
“We take pride in hosting this traditional competition which is unique to uShaka Marine World. Now in its eleventh year, this competition provides a fabulous opportunity for local dancers to generate revenue by not only doing what they love, but sharing their talent with local and international visitors alike. Last year we saw over 60 dance troupes at the auditions and we are hoping to increase that number this year –making this event a truly memorable one, once again!” said Stella Khumalo (CEO of uShaka Marine World).
