Vilas & Muthusamy guide Dolphins to good win:

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins claimed a confidence boosting four wicket win over the Multiply Titans at SuperSport Park Centurion thanks to a Dane Vilas hundred and a strong all round performance from Senuran Muthusamy in the Momentum One Day Cup on Friday.

Vilas ended with 103 vital runs while Muthusamy took 3/59 and finished 64 not out to guide their side home in a rain interrupted game.

The Titans batted first and their openers got their side off to a positive start as Henry Davids and Tony de Zorzi put on 105 for the first wicket.

Davids fell first for 52 before Muthusamy got amongst the wickets when he had De Zorzi trapped in front for 68.

Heinrich Klaasen and Rivaldo Moonsamy put on 70 runs before the latter was caught by Vaughn van Jaarsveld off Muthusamy for 40.

The Dolphins bowlers kept the run rate in check throughout the rest of the Titans’ innings after Klaasen went to 50.

Heino Kuhn made 36 before Mthokozisi Shezi claimed his wicket on 263, and Farhaan Berhardien was dismissed for 16 off Rob Frylinck’s bowling.

The Titans were 269/6 in the in the 49th over when rain intervened and their innings was cut short.

The Dolphins were given 253 runs to win off 40 overs to win the game and they lost the in-form Morné van Wyk early for four and then SJ Erwee with the score on 34.

Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Dane Vilas came together to put on 35 before the former fell for 19 with the Dolphins 69/3 in the 13th over.

Captain Khaya Zondo was the next wicket, he was caught behind for 12 when Muthusamy joined Vilas.

Vilas then stroked his way to a 103 from 85 balls. His century included 11 fours and one maximum. He and Muthusamy put on 141 for the fifth wicket as the Dolphins whittled down the deficit to just 19 runs.

Rob Fylinck fell with the score on 237 when Keshav Maharaj joined Muthusamy at the crease with the Dolphins needing 16 to win the game with 23 balls left in the chase.

It was then up to Muthusamy and Maharaj to take the Dolphins over the line as the former ended on an impressive 64 not out off 61 balls while Maharaj finished unbeaten on 13 off six deliveries.
