Durban High School has already had an impressive start to their 150th birthday year. On Wednesday, January 6th, 2016, two of their Class of 2015 learners, namely, Nikyle Bisseru and Aravind Arunakirinathar were acknowledged for their outstanding academic achievements in the Matric Final Exams at a ceremony held by the Department of Education at the International Convention Centre in Durban.

Arunakirinathar placed 3rd in Mathematics in the country and 1st in KwaZulu Natal, with Bisseru placing 1st overall in the Umlazi District and 6th overall in KwaZulu Natal. Arunakirinathar along with another learner from Gelofte Skool are the only KwaZulu-Natal matriculants to be recognised by the Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, for their outstanding achievement in the 2015 Grade 12 exams.

Durban High School is extremely proud of these learners and wishes all its past pupils, a successful future.
