Durban 29 August 2019. Yolanda Haripersad, Durban entrepreneur and wealth coach has launched a new podcast, The Wealth Nation Podcast and financial resource website www.financiallyfabulousfemales.com. The Wealth Nation Podcast is about personal finance and entrepreneurship for woman and focuses on money management, property investments and entrepreneurship, and is geared towards helping women of all ages to be empowered with their personal finance and business interests. According to Visa’s 2013 International Barometer of Women’s Financial Literacy, local statistics suggest that, South African women are among the least financially literate women in the world. The Wealth Nation Podcast aims to bridge that gap.

The first episode, featured South Africa’s richest woman, Magda Wierzycka CEO of Sygnia Asset Managers. Magda provided listeners with seven ways in which they could get their finances in order. Another featured guest was entrepreneur Margaret Hirsch – COO of Hirsches, who dished out pearls of wisdom in finance, business and life. Wealth Nation Podcast also features international entrepreneurs such as Meghla Bardwaj, Singapore based entrepreneur that shared with South African women how they could source goods in India and sell them online on Amazon to leverage the weak rand and generate profits in dollars. The most popular episode to date has been the story of Durban Entrepreneur Sholain Perumal. Sholain shared her story of how she was once a PicknPay cashier, she now runs her own national gold company

In just three weeks, the podcast has racked up over 1000 downloads with listeners from South Africa, United States and Spain, bringing in the biggest listenership. Yolanda, the podcast host says that “podcasting is a new but growing concept in South Africa. It provides on demand audio content that allows women to multitask and listen to valuable content. Women can be cooking, in the gym or even driving and they can gather nuggets of information to propel their personal finance and business interests.”
