The Power To – A one man theatre piece:

The actor who brought you “Bhagwan gave me this life” and comedies like “Yamla Pagla” with DocuTheatre like “Late night with Mohammed Rafi” and “Remember Mukesh” now brings you an intriguing modern day one person play entitled “THE POWER TO”

His world is a dark lonely place deep inside his mind. It has always been that way even when he smiled, when he seemed happy; the darkness lurked. Krish has lost his job in a very peculiar way, forcing him to up and leave. In the midst of packing he encounters one last visitor to his home where he was born and raised.

The satire of life plays itself out as his jovial façade slowly morphs into the raging vengeance seeker and Krish must commit one final act before leaving this place or moving on would be unmanageable and impossible.

Pranesh Maharaj encompasses the use of music, dance, comedy and dramatics to tell this powerful story. “THE POWER TO” runs at the Stanmore Regional Hall on Friday 09 December and at the Sri Sanatan Mandir Temple Hall on 10 December 2016.

Tickets are just R40 each and available at Maharaj’s Prayer Goods in the Phoenix Plaza (and Mt Edgecombe Plaza) for the Durban run. For the Stanger run they are at Raymens Supermarket in Stanger Manor.
