The KZN South Coast is officially #SummerReady with Radio 2000 Summer Season Beach Activation getting the season into full swing this weekend. MEC for the Department of Economic Development Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), Siboniso Duma, got things underway with the re-launch of Margate Airport on Saturday, 26 November, which has just undergone an R11-million revamp. Phelisa Mangcu, CEO of South Coast Tourism & Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) said: “This is a historic moment for the KZN South Coast and will go a long way in increasing accessibility to our destination for both tourism and investments. We are honoured to have the MEC in attendance to mark this occasion and the start of our KZN South Coast #SummerReady campaign as we welcome visitors to all our open beaches this festive season.” The airport opening was followed by Sunday’s Radio 2000 Summer Season Beach Activation at Margate Beach, which included a live radio broadcast and many beach activities.
