28 June 2017 by Alan

The #CleanBlueLagoon team of volunteers celebrating their clean up, before the boat departed with the final bags of litter.
Park Boulevard Centre in association with #CleanBlueLagoon, hosted a beach clean-up on Saturday, June 24th which saw just under 50 volunteers take to the beach to pick up debris and litter.

In just 2 hours, the team of volunteers from around Durban filled 250 bags of all kinds of litter, from plastic, to polystyrene, tin foil, and more, which were transported by boat to the Blue Lagoon precinct for disposal.

On behalf of Park Boulevard, Elisabeth Pretorius (Centre Manager under the Broll Property Group) was on site to lend a hand. She said, “The litter was more than we imagined and I am so impressed with the turnout of volunteers that helped with the clean-up. We definitely need more of these beach clean up’s in future in order to prevent this unwanted waste from entering our Oceans and harming our marine life. I would like to thank everyone who assisted in making this event a success”.

The next #CleanBlueLagoon will take place on Saturday, July 15. If you would like to be a volunteer, please contact Dale on 082 903 0500.
