Subrayen highlights tough day three for the Dolphins – Featured Durban Blog

Subrayen highlights tough day three for the Dolphins:

Bloemfontein – A first five wicket haul of the season for spinner Prenelan Subrayen was the highlight of a tough day in the field for the Hollywoodbets Dolphins on day three of their CSA 4-Day Domestic Series clash with the VKB Knights in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.

The Dolphins were one bowler light as Daryn Dupavillon sustained an injury; and on a flat surface the bowlers were made to work hard for very little reward.

Knights captain Pite van Biljoen notched up a double century for the home side while Raynard van Tonder ended on 165.

The pair put on 291 for the fourth wicket before Smangaliso Nhlebela bagged Van Biljoen for 218 with the score on 450.

Clyde Fortuin didn’t last long, he was caught off the bowling of Okuhle Cele for one and then Shaun von Berg’s stay was ended by Prenelan Subrayen on eighteen.

Gerald Coetzee became Subrayen’s fourth victim and then the off spinner picked up the wicket of Van Tonder to bag a first five wicket haul of the season.

The Knights declared on 519 for eight and gave the Dolphins a few overs to bat late in the afternoon.

At the close the Dolphins were 13 for one with Vaughn van Jaarsveld the man out.

Going into the fourth and final day the Dolphins trail the Knights by 136 runs.
