Subrayen and Bosch back for Dolphins:
Durban – The Hollywoodbets Dolphins will be bolstered by the return of the experienced Prenelan Subrayen and all-rounder Eathan Bosch for their upcoming 4-Day Domestic Series clash with the Itec Knights at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium from 18-21 November.
It’s been a difficult start to the season for the Dolphins who have endured a number of bubble environments as well as two away fixtures to start their red ball campaign however head coach Imraan Khan is proud of how his team has started.
“It’s good to be back home again given the start we’ve had to the season and with the injuries we’ve had the boys have really stood up in these opening two games,” Khan said.
“We got unlucky in Cape Town with the final day being washed out and at Centurion we know we didn’t bowl well but we batted brilliantly to put us in a position to draw the match.
“The make-up of our side is different this season with a number of younger players compared to the more experienced side we had last campaign but the guys have stepped up and we’re excited for this week’s fixture.”
Having a player like Subrayen back is crucial for the Dolphins given his experience and Khan is excited about having the off-spinner back in the mix.
“Subs brings a lot of experience with him and he is one of the leaders in the side, so to have him available is great for us.
“We’ve been fortunate in that he’s well ahead of where he should be in his recovery so we are looking forward to having him back in the mix.”
Despite their two draws the Dolphins sit third in Division One of the CSA 4-Day competition behind the Lions in first and this week’s opposition, the Knights in second.
“The Knights are a really competitive side and they have a good make-up in their side but we’ll just focus on playing the best cricket we can.
“We have specific processes and plans that we follow and it’s going to be important that we get that right this week against the Knights.
“They have a lot of confidence after their T20 win and they’ve start the 4-Day competition well so we’ll have to play good cricket this week,” Khan stressed.
With Eathan Bosch in the mix for selection the coaching staff will have a difficult job of picking their starting XI, however Grant Roelofsen, Ottniel Baartman and Lifa Ntanzi are still unavailable due to injury.

Have you tried: Travelling to South Africa?
Quick Durban KwaZulu-Natal Fact: Appropriately named “South Africa’s Garden Province”, the lush and green KwaZulu-Natal province forms the east coast of South Africa from the Mozambique boundary southwards to Port Edward. The coastline is dotted with small towns, many of which serve as seasonal recreational hubs. The climate of the coastal areas is humid and subtropical, comparable to southern Florida in the United States, but not quite as hot and rainy in the summer. As one moves further north, up the coast towards the border of Mozambique, the climate becomes almost purely tropical. North of Durban is locally referred to as “The North Coast”, while south is known as “The South Coast”. The Kwazulu-Natal Tourist board includes towns like Margate, Port Shepstone, Scottburgh and Port Edward in its definition of what constitutes the South Coast, while Ballito, Umhlanga and Salt Rock are quintessentially North Coast resort towns.
