Springholm at Brahman Hills: Recently headed into the hills of the Midlands for some time out – honestly it’s one of my best places to totally defrag and leave the pace of the city behind. The team at Brahman Hills has recently launched Springholm, situated in the valley of the Blue Crane Nature Reserve, 4.5km from the hotel overlooking a tranquil dam next to the Reserve. Springholm currently has 3 waterfront cottages sleeping up to 4 people and 3 hillside cottages sleeping up to 6 people, all available on a self-catering basis, with breakfast included in the cottage rate. We were hosted in one of the waterfront cottages and despite the notorious Midlands mist rolling in across the lake in the afternoon obscuring the view, being so close to the water’s edge was such a lovely experience and the resident family of Egyptian geese swam by to say hello.
