Spring G-and-Tetley Tea – Featured Durban Blog

Spring G-and-Tetley Tea: Warmer days are en route and that means lots of time for sundowners!My favourite drink these days is gin and tonic so I decided to see if I could put my own twist on this by making my own infusion using Tetley’s new Lemon tea – and produced the most awesome result! Did a bit of research online first and adapted a recipe from The Kitchy Kitchen – so here is mine: FOR THE INFUSION YOU NEED:– 2 cups gin – I used Bombay Original as I wanted something that has no detectable infusion in it and this is a great, reasonably priced dry gin.– 2 tablespoons Tetley Lemon Tea leaves – open the bags and use the dry leaves.– A jar with a tight lid – I used a Consol pickling jar. TO SERVE:– 1/2 cup lemon juice – I added this as wanted it to have a definite lemony taste.2 tablespoons simple syrup (you make this by boiling 1 cup of white sugar with 1 cup of water until the sugar has dissolved).4 cups ginger ale – I used Schweppes.
