Kwazulu-Natal on MyPR:
Andy Strydom, owner of the Durban based company Ambidex Projects won the 2014 Gaia award in the construction category.
Held annually on the sidelines of the Big 5 International Building & Construction show in Dubai, the Gaia Awards honours companies in the construction sector who they recognize as providing sustainable methods of construction.
The winners were considered from 286 entries. After two rounds of judging 30 finalists were chosen before the final results were revealed.
Ambidex Projects are specialists in the application of alternative building systems that are both affordable and sustainable. Without any compromise on structural integrity, they are able to build at less cost and in less time. Their focus is on sandbag, wire frame and an inter-locking block method of construction.
