13 year old, Jessica Rankin, who is currently in grade 7, will be the youngest artist ever to exhibit her art at the upcoming art exhibition at the La Lucia Mall from Thursday, July 30th.
Art Givers, who is the host of various art exhibitions, was approached by Rankin’s art teacher, Syd Sellars, and they agreed to let her showcase her talented artwork amongst the adult exhibitors.
In October 2012, Rankin first started attending art classes at Hands on Art in Glenashley and since then, has gained vast experience in various mediums such as water colours, acrylics and oils and has also been taught to draw her subjects using the grid system.
The Art Givers exhibition takes place on the upper level of the La Lucia Mall from Thursday, July 30th until Sunday, August 9th.
25% of all works of art sold will be donated to the SPCA, so please show your support for not only this good cause, but for the talent of these artists as well.
“My wife and I are very excited to have both teacher and student exhibiting their art together, and believe that the sky’s the limit for Jess,” said Rankin’s father, Mitch.
