EThekwini Municipality notes the decision of the Joint Sitting of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) and the Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) to postpone the City’s appearance, which was scheduled for today, 25 August 2026.
The City respects the decision of the committees and was fully prepared to engage and account to the committees on various governance issues that are a follow-up from the meeting that was held on 20 May 2026.
The City stands ready to account to the joint committee and will await further communication.
The City assures residents and stakeholders of its continued commitment to full and transparent engagement with Parliament’s oversight structures.
