At +258 Mozambique, we revel in this concept, which is why we’ve crafted our menu items to be shared between friends, lovers, family or acquaintances. In fact, shareable options are the only options – creating the exciting concept of flavour-and-food experimentation.
It’s about Sharing
It’s about Experience
It’s about Family
It’s about Tradition
It’s about Passion
It’s about Flavour
+ 258 Mozambique is a space that encourages the sharing of flavours, experiences, conversations, joy, laughter, smiles and successes around a table: Our Mozambican Flavoured table!
As the concept is one of sharing, it is natural that nothing at +258 is served on individual plates. The food arrives at the table in bowls and platters from which everyone can pick and take what they want.
Our menu at the +258 comprises eight (8) dishes + (2) desserts – served over three courses, with a fixed price. Our meals are designed to be shared by 2, 4 or 8+ people. We change our menu from time to time, as we like to keep things fresh & exciting for our guests. We also like keeping up with the seasons, holidays & special occasions, using many Chef Special dishes that you will just have to come in to find out more about!
The preparation system is automated: your order through the waiters will go directly to the kitchen; the cooking process takes approximately 30-60 minutes. As you wait, to tease your tastebuds and warm up your appetites, our waiters will offer you cold petiscos (tapas) such as Azeitonas Marinadas (Marinated olives) and Amendoim Torrado (Roasted Peanut), Castanhas Picantes de Moçambique’ (Mozambique cashew nuts with chilli); Selecção de Patê (Patê Selection), Achar de Manga (Mango Achar) and Peixe Seco em vinagre e especiarias (dried fish in vinegar and spices), etc.
Once your ordered dishes are ready, the waiter serves the food and beverages on your table.
+258 Mozambique was born from the imagination, determination and persistence of two Mozambican investors with an intense passion for truly authentic Mozambican cuisine. The restaurant name +258 Mozambique is derived from the country’s dialling code and perfectly embodies the true spirit of our home country, Mozambique.
Our space has been carefully designed for visitors to enjoy a wholesome and immersive Mozambican experience, to discover our food and flavours, to drink, shop, listen to music and to feel the genuine cultural vibe of an outstanding country.
The menu is varied and results from the creativity of our chefs. The main concept is one of “Food to share” – we extend an invitation to all those friends of +258 who like to try new things and share dishes to come and discover the flavours of Mozambique!
The gastronomy of +258 is based on genuine Mozambican food that goes beyond Portuguese style food to include Creole food with recipes sourced from traders, fisherfolk and generations of home-cooked meals. Every time we are back home in Mozambique, we collect new recipes, try them out with friends and family, refine them and sometimes recreate others to bring you fresh and exciting flavours.
All food at +258 is prepared with love by our team of expert chefs who support the authenticity of Mozambican products, from fish and seafood off the coast of Mozambique to traditional Portuguese sausages, including succulent and superior quality meat from South African breeds and vegetables from small-scale farmers in Mozambique, Portugal, and South Africa.
Our space is an espresso bar, a beer hall, and a retail space that sells Mozambican, Portuguese, South African, and Italian beer, wine, spirits, and delicacies. It’s a Petiscos bar, seafood bar, a steakhouse and a gallery, filled with original creations. It also offers on-the-go deli options such as sandwiches, pizzettes, soups, smoothies, cakes, bread, biscuits and more.
We are open daily from early till late for breakfast, snacks, coffees, lunch, sundowners, dinner, and drinks! Friday Nights are Chill’Dance Nights – a mix of Kizomba, Salsa, Bachata, Afro, Urban Kiz, and Semba dance styles!
Sundays are for our Jazz Sundowner Sessions with DJ Spike in the mix – Old School Party, Jazz, R&B, Salsa, Kizomba, House & Dance music styles.
Good Food! Good Friends! Good Vibes!
