Security Guards – 4, Knife Wielding Robbers – 0

5 June 2015 by Alan

Durban – Two robbers were injured in a shoot-out with security guards in Durban North on Friday morning.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said a woman was held up in her house by four knife-wielding suspects. She was ordered to lie down before they fled with a laptop, cellphone, television set and an iPad tablet.

“The victim alerted her security company which responded. The security officers spotted the suspects and stopped them.

“The suspects attacked the security officers with knives and security officers defended themselves by shooting two of the suspects on their legs.”

Crisis Medical spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said the two injured robbers were taken to hospital in a serious condition under police guard.

Naicker said the four men would be charged with armed robbery and would appear in court soon.
