S.A Hip-Hop artist ‘Njebov is set to knock the streets of East Rand of its feet with his latest mixtape.
2022 has been a rather fruitful year for S.A Hip-hop music, making an extreme comeback from what most like to call, a Hip-hop break/slumber. The same can be said about the songwriter ‘Njebov, who has had both a wonderful and difficult time making music and compiling a body of work, a brand new mixtape titled ‘Umqondo We Zinja’ with his producer and great friend Niklau$. The Mixtape consists of 12 carefully packaged and selected songs that tells stories of different township experiences, hardships and joyful moments that we all can relate to, with lyrics that are mostly in his mother tongue and he integrates it with English for a much inclusive listening group, and the beat style is mostly of African elements mixed with samples from great musicians, both locally and abroad.
‘Umqondo We Zinja’ is set to be released on Friday the 18th of November 2022, an important day for both ‘Njebov and Niklau$ as this will mark the beginning of an important step in their music careers as each has to prove that there is a spot they can fill amongst other great South African music creators. Depending on the feedback and reviews they will receive from listeners on Friday, ‘Njebov and Niklau$ will soon be compiling a live show on instagram where they will be performing most of the songs on the Mixtape and in between each songs viewers will be allowed to join the the live for 20 seconds, where they will be given the authority to pick a song they want to hear and if possible perform the first few lyrics with ‘Njebov live.
‘Njebov first started recording in the year 2015, however, at that time he was with a different crew he met at school and did not know who Niklau$, who was also mixing, producing and Deejaying around that same time. When ‘Njebov met Niklau$ they did not make music right away, it took some getting use to before they both made music together and eventually compiled ‘Umqondo We Zinja’, A true ghetto masterpiece.
