Global connections, investment opportunities, and access to new markets await as Durban prepares to host the third edition of the reSURGEnce Durban Conference 2026 from 26 to 27 October at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
Entrepreneurs and business leaders are invited to attend the two-day conference under the theme “Decreasing Barriers by Increasing Access”. Interested participants can register via this link: https://forms.gle/KLJszXyVLoSg5b859
Organised by eThekwini Municipality in partnership with The New York Christian Times, the conference forms part of the reSURGEnce Durban weeklong empowerment activities, running from 24 to 28 October, which will include business networking, investment discussions, and activities aimed at strengthening local and international trade.
Delegates are expected from South Africa, the United States of America, Zambia, and Uganda.
Featured speakers include Eric Adams, former Mayor of New York; Senator James Sanders of New York State; Dr Nevers Mumba, former Vice President of Zambia; Gwen Ansah Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Pivot57; and Ronald Balimwezo, Lord Mayor of Kampala. Other speakers include Dr Marvin Hooks, President of CM Developers, and Clayton Banks, Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Harlem, to name a few.
The exhibition, running simultaneously with the two-day conference, is fully booked, with approximately 150 businesses showcasing products and services across information and communications technology, manufacturing, fashion, tourism, business services, arts and crafts, training, and advisory services.
The programme also includes an Economic Revival Dialogue, business-to-business engagements, a Business of Music Masterclass, and the official conference and exhibition.
eThekwini Municipality City Manager Musa Mbhele said: “The City is ready to welcome international delegates and business leaders to Durban. We look forward to showcasing the city’s investment potential and connecting businesses to opportunities. Our focus is on delivering a successful programme that strengthens partnerships and supports economic growth.”
Reflecting on previous editions, Marcus Mkhasibe, an exhibitor at last year’s event and founder of a fashion, clothing, and leather accessories brand, said: “Participating opened global doors, built valuable connections, and led to significant business deals and purchases.”
