Why did you want to be affiliated with The Sharks as an official supporters venue?
“We understand the value of the Sharks brand and share a core focus on providing entertainment for the entire family. We aim to offer Sharks supporters a safe and comfortable viewing experience for away games. We are very proud to have been nominated as one of the Official Sharks Supporters Venues in KZN.”
What is the vibe like when the Sharks games are on at Crusaders?
“There’s always a great atmosphere at Crusaders on weekends, and it gets even better when the Sharks are playing! The vibe is electric under the marquee in the beer garden, and our massive LED outdoor screen, along with multiple screens in the clubhouse, make it the best place to watch the games. We have live music and excellent DJs before and after the matches to keep our customers entertained, and our friendly staff ensure you have everything you need.”
What would you recommend pairs best with rugby from the Crusaders kitchen?
“Saders Kitchen produces amazing food. Their wood-fired oven pizzas are excellent, and they constantly offer delicious specials at great prices. Personally, I think their chicken peri-peri is the best I’ve ever tasted!”

Team Release: Hollywoodbets Sharks vs Benetton:
The Hollywoodbets Sharks will once again take continuity into their Vodacom United Rugby Championship clash with Benetton at Stadio Monigo on Saturday afternoon.
Head coach John Plumtree has made minimal changes, all three rotational, with Trevor Nyakane at loosehead prop and Fez Mbatha starting at hooker in place of Ntuthuko Mchunu and Dylan Richardson respectively, while Phepsi Buthelezi and Emmanuel Tshituka swap jerseys this week.
The backline remains intact.
Hollywoodbets Sharks attack coach Dave Williams is excited not only for this match, but also for the way the team is building confidence into their attack.
“It all starts with how we exit from the back of the field and that’s giving us some good field position and then we have great individual moments from players and we’re executing from there,” he explains.
Rugby is all about chemistry and combinations and continuity over the last five weeks certainly helps the team build momentum as the players spend more time together on the field.
“Those connections are massive, and the benefit of that away semi-final and away final was getting time together and now the third game on the road in the URC, so we’ve spent a lot of time together building those connections, both on and off the field.”
Although there have been some tense finishes in recent times, coming out on top in those games shows the fight and character in the team, which Williams acknowledges is an important component in their successful run.
“Those late comebacks are something we pride ourselves on, showing strength in staying in the fight, we have pressure moments that we’re able to deliver in those final moments.
“We’d like to pull away [on the scoreboard] but we know the calibre of our opposition this week with their test match experience.
“It’s going to be a great challenge for us, one we’re looking forward to. It’s going to be a great contest amongst the forwards and the two backlines, but it’s all about turning pressure moments into points.”
Saturday’s match in the northern Italian town of Treviso kicks off at 4pm.

Quick Durban KwaZulu-Natal Fact: Provincial Government – The KwaZulu-Natal’s provincial government sits in the legislative buildings in Pietermaritzburg. The site where the legislative buildings are situated was occupied by St Mary’s Church, which was built in the 1860s. A new church was built at the corner of Burger Street and Commercial Road, and opened in 1884. The old building was demolished in 1887 to provide space for the legislative complex. The foundation stone of the new legislative building was laid on 21 June 1887, to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. The building was completed two years later. On 25 April 1889, the Governor of Natal, Sir Arthur Havelock, opened the first Legislative Council session in the new building. When governance was granted to Natal in 1893, the new Legislative Assembly took over the chamber that was used by the Legislative Council since 1889. Further extensions to the parliamentary building were made. The building was unoccupied until 1902, when it was used without being officially opened, due to the fact that the country was engulfed in the Anglo-Boer war. The war also affected the Legislative Assembly, which had to move the venue of its sittings when the chamber was used as a military hospital.
