In celebration of two decades of the Durban Business Fair, eThekwini Municipality will be hosting the South Regional Business Fair in Umlazi D-section at the KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre, on July 27 / 28 / 29 , from 8am until 5pm.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend this exciting event, with free entrance, and explore various business activities which will include a number of empowerment practices and seminars spearheaded by renowned business people who will share their business expertise with entrepreneurs and the public.

The Durban Fashion Fair (DFF) component will be hosting an exhibition space as well as a fashion panel discussion on Saturday, July 28 at 13h00. There will be talks held on the business of fashion and one will be given some insight to topics ranging from digital marketing, retailing, building a stable customer relationship, and growing and marketing your brand. Guest speakers include Retail Manager, Percy Ngcongo from the DFF Emporium, menswear designer for Duke – Clothe Your Soul, Sandile Duke Mngadi, Futhi Mkhize who is the founder of the Ubuhle Beauty Academy as well as the founder of LillyBelle beauty products and fashion and has over 14 years of beauty & fashion experience with International brands.

One of our DFF 2017 Rising Star winning designers, Claudia Novuka who heads up her ladies wear brand, Emerikay, will also be making an appearance, as well as Thembeka Vilane who is a multimedia infotainment content producer for digital, print, radio and TV platforms and the proud owner of 8705 Media. Joining us as the panel show facilitator is Leon Payn, who is a male model, fitness enthusiast and a social media influencer who has worked with a number of high profile brands and is a self-proclaimed ambassador for the city of Durban.

There will be fashion shows from the DFF Emporium, local retailers and invited designers on Friday, July 27 & Saturday, July 28 at 14h30 & 16h00 and on Sunday, July 29 at 14h00 & 15h30. You will have the opportunity to meet some of our 2018 New Face models who will be taking to the catwalk for the very first time. These models are currently going through their 8 week “model boot camp” programme where they are taught all aspects of modelling. This programme, which is another proudly eThekwini Municipality initiative to grow the fashion industry in the city, as well as create a platform for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, is now celebrating 7 years on the fashion calendar!

For potential entrepreneurs, this business show will also provide a wide range of opportunities, some of which include Business Indaba on Construction and infrastructure Development, Entrepreneurship opportunities dialogue for the youth, Master Classes in film making, Business of Fashion; Cooking demonstrations, even a mixology challenge and many more exciting features. Experts in the respected fields will be on hand to answer your questions- this is an opportunity not to be missed.
