Residents are notified that Umgeni Water has to carry out essential work at the Midmar Dam raw water pump station. This work is required to enhance future security and sustainability of water supply in uMgungundlovu District, Pietermaritzburg and parts of Durban.
In order for this work to be executed quickly and effectively, raw water supply from the Midmar Dam to the Midmar Water Works and DV Harris Water Treatment Plant will have to be shut for an estimated 30-hour period.
Work at the Midmar Dam raw water pump station will commence on 08 September 2016 from 08h00 and is scheduled to be completed on the afternoon of 09 September 2016.
Areas to be affected are: Ntukuso, Mpuma, Imbozama, Sthumba, Amatata, Bhobhonono, Madwaleni, Gezanyoni, eMvini, Panekeni, Nonoti, Diphini, Qhodela, Denge, Gasa Section, Umlahlanja, Siweni, Rietvallei, Othweba, Harare 1, Cuphulaka, Mngcweni, Harare 2, Harrison, KwaCele, Cato Ridge, Esikhelekehleni, Inchanga Park.
