Park Lines BMX Tournament rolls into Gold Reef City for the 2024 BMX Freestyle South African Champs.

Johannesburg, South Africa, 9 May 2024 – A new style of ride, the Park Lines BMX Tournament – official 2024 South African BMX Freestyle Championships, is coming to the iconic Gold Reef City Theme Park on 2 June. It is presented by LW Mag and Dragon Energy in association with Garmin, Balwin Sport and DJI.

Some of the country’s most talented BMX Freestyle riders will compete for the South African BMX Freestyle champion title. The action-packed event will showcase creativity and skill as riders perform tricks and stunts in their battle to win their share of the prize money and to see who will be crowned event champions.

A newly built skate park will be positioned in the Gold Reef City Theme Park’s Town Square specifically for this BMX Park Freestyle tournament. Invited riders from around South Africa will compete in the Pro Division, and the event will allow up-and-coming riders to compete in the Amateur Division.

The park will offer a range of obstacles for riders to use during their runs. Competitors will go head-to-head in qualifying heats, where judges will consider use-of-park, variation, style, tricks, and amplitude when selecting riders for the Finals. Pro riders will be competing for their share of the R35 000.00 prize money, a Garmin Instinct smartwatch, and other prizes from the official event partners. In the Amateur Division, a new Mongoose BMX and further prizes are up for grabs.

The tournament will conclude with the Best Trick competition open to all competing riders, with the winner taking home a DJI product voucher to the value of R10 000.00.
