OZONE DEODORISES HOTEL ROOMS WITHOUT A TRACE

Killing without a trace in hotel rooms sounds like something out of a horror movie. However, when it comes to murdering unpleasant odours, that’s exactly what hospitality industry housekeepers workers want.

High-traffic hotel rooms have a much greater potential than other shared spaces to generate odours that are both unpleasant and potentially unhealthy. That’s especially true when the odour is the result of unauthorised cigarette smoking by guests.

“Portable ozone generators dispense ozone gas for deodorising hotel rooms within 20 minutes and leave no artificial airborne or surface residues after reverting harmlessly back to oxygen,” says Ian Wright of Ozone Solutions.

In the case of smoking, a shock treatment can be applied to a room to deodorise everything from carpets to linen and curtains. On the coast especially, mould growth in unoccupied hotel rooms can occur rapidly and small doses of ozone will freshen up a room magically for newly arrived guests.

Ozone is already well known throughout the world in the hospitality industry where it is commonly used in dedicated smoking areas, refuse areas and in public toilets for its deodorising and sanitising properties.

Ozone was approved as far back as 1999 as a disinfectant by the American Food and Drug Administration and that country’s Environmental Protection Agency.

Many scientists believe that the overuse of antibacterial cleaning products and artificial
deodorisers (that only mask the smell) indiscriminately kill good and bad organisms, which has caused us to become hypersensitive to all foreign pathogens. This response sends our immune systems into overdrive with all sorts of anatomical implications.

Ozone is a highly-reactive gas that is produced when oxygen interacts with either electricity or UV light. It is also gaseous and can therefore deodorise the most inaccessible of hotel room spaces.
