The cable supplying electricity to oThongathi Mill and Water Works was stolen in the late hours of Tuesday night, 10/03/15. This disrupted the supply of water to eight water reservoirs in the oThongathi area. The Municipality immediately dispatched water tankers to the affected areas.
The stolen cable has been replaced and the oThongathi Water Works has been operating as from this morning, (Friday, 13/03/15). The process of refilling affected reservoirs is currently in progress. Water supply should be restored to all areas within 24 to 48 hours, most of them by this afternoon.
The Municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused.
