NUMSA Members killer arrested

17 November 2014 by Alan

A 27-year-old murder suspect is due to appear today, 17 November 2014 in the Eshowe Magistrates’ Court facing three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. He was arrested by Durban Organised Crime Unit and Sundumbili detectives after they received information that he was detained in Eshowe prison for an armed robbery case. He was arrested on Friday, 14 November 2014.

On 6 August 2014 at approximately 21:00, three victims who were Numsa members were at Phola Park Bar in Sundumbili when they were killed. Njabulo Dube, Sibonelo Ntuli and Ntobeko Maphumulo were shot and killed while the fourth victim was shot and wounded, and was taken to hospital for treatment. The other two victims escaped unharmed. Motive for their attack is still unknown.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni praised the Durban Organised Crime Unit as well as Sundumbili detectives. "With Festive Season operations in full swing criminals can expect to feel the heat in KZN," she said.
