North West Province’s Skinny van Schalkwyk (Mooinooi) to feature at South Coast Bike Fest™

4 April 2019 by My Durban

North West Province’s Skinny van Schalkwyk (Mooinooi) to feature at South Coast Bike Fest™:

Crazy, funky and fun – the South Coast Bike Fest™ (#SCBF19) powered by Gearhouse attracts the most interesting and dynamic showmen and women to perform at what is now South Africa’s biggest motorcycle and music festival. The annual event, presented by Ugu South Coast Tourism, will welcome these crowd favourites to the coastal town of Margate from 26 to 28 April.

“Part of the attraction of the South Coast Bike Fest™ is the incredibly colourful characters that feature at the festival,” said event organiser, Vicky Wentzel. “We are so excited about this year’s line-up of top stuntmen and women that will have the audience transfixed throughout the three-day bike fest.”

From the little town of Mooinooi in the North West comes the biking dynamo, Skinny van Schalkwyk. Out of pure boredom one day, Skinny decide to take up biking and she’s spent 15 years finding adventure everywhere she rides. Her newsletter – Tank Girls – has almost 30 000 subscribers and it documents her completely unplanned biking adventures with friends worldwide. She races, performs stunts, and has attended almost every rally countrywide… and now she’s getting ready to impress audiences at the South Coast Bike Fest™ as part of the Shredbetty’s performance.

“I’m nervous but really looking forward to this year’s South Coast Bike Fest™,” said Skinny. “My now famous Yamaha R6 – ‘Billy Bob’- is a little injured so I’ll be performing on another bike for the festival. It should be interesting!”
