Nespresso Boutique Store at Gateway: I’ve had a Nespresso coffee machine for about 3 years now and have to admit I love it – yes there are coffee snobs who say nuh-uh to pods, but the quick and easy convenience, plus the range of flavours which taste yum were a no brainer for me, especially when you consider they work out to around R4 per cup, instead of the usual R20 you pay at a coffee shop… But what did always irk me a bit, was throwing all the pods away and wondering where those shiny bits of metal ended up. Cue Nespresso’s new recycling initiative, where you can drop your pods off at selected Nespresso outlets and they’ll be disposed of correctly and recycled – our Durban one is at the brand new boutique store at Gateway. I was mightily impressed at their recent media event, not just because of the yummy nibbles from So Whipped and the amazing aroma of coffee wafting through the air, but they served us coffee poured over white chocolate people – come on!
