An EThekwini Water team carrying out routine maintenance to valves along Tatford Road, Phoenix were struck by a speeding vehicle on the residential road on Friday morning, 28 August 2015.
Three Council employees were hit by the speeding vehicle, allegedly driven by a 17 year-old.
The team were inspecting valves along the verge when the car ploughed into them, ramming them against a brick wall. This resulted in sections of the wall collapsing.
Two staff members sustained serious injuries to the head and legs while the third was also injured. They were transported to a nearby hospital where they are receiving medical attention.
Witnesses allege the driver was speeding around a bend when he lost control of the vehicle, which was also badly damaged in the accident.
Police were on scene and will be investigating the matter.
