EThekwini Mayor Councillor Cyril Xaba will dedicate 67 minutes in service of humanity at Mother of Peace Orphanage in Illovo as part of the Municipality’s Mandela Day programme.
Mother of Peace Orphanage provides a safe, family-centred environment for orphaned, vulnerable, and abused children.
The orphanage currently cares for 58 children through a cluster foster care model supported by dedicated house mothers and staff.
During the visit, Mayor Xaba will tour the facility, interact and play with the children, and officially hand over items collected through a Municipality-wide donation drive and external stakeholders.
