Merebank polic seek next of kin

Wentworth police are searching for the family of an unknown deceased man who is about 45 years old. On 7 November 2014 the body of an unknown male was found at the Southern Waste Water Treatment at Bayfield Road in Merebank.

The deceased was found trapped in a screening machine. It is suspected that he tripped, fell and drowned while looking for jewellery at the time. The deceased was found by an employee of the water treatment works and he had a juice bottle which contained small items of jewellery. Any person who has information regarding the identity of the deceased or his next of kin is requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Warrant Officer PC Pillay on 031 451 6217 or 083 786 1901. The body can be viewed at the Gale Street mortuary in Durban. Please contact them on 031 305 4472.
