Mega Search For Local Talent!:

Umlazi Mega City is fast becoming an event and entertainment venue, this is fortified by the launch of the second annual Mega Talent Search. The event aims to provide a platform to showcase and support local talent from the community.

The performing artists will certainly be excited about the total of R50 000 in amazing prizes up for grabs. The 1st winner will receive a cash prize valued at R15 000 plus a weekend getaway valued at R10 000. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed winners will each receive cash prizes valued at R10 000, R7000, R5000 and R3000 respectively.

Umlazi Mega City general manager, Siphumelele Khuzwayo, said that they are delighted to be running this event for the second year. By providing aspiring artists the opportunity to showcase their talents to a public audience the community is uplifted. The substantial prizes that we have secured from our tenants will certainly assist the winners to reach new heights. The inaugural event achieved over 400 participants and this year is sure to be even bigger. The competition is open to both beginners and professionals and there are a number of categories one can enter, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.

To enter, send your 60 second audition video via WhatsApp to +2766 312 8591. Entries opened on Tuesday, the 8th of October and close on Friday the 25th of October 2019.

As there is a diverse talent in our community we are not limiting categories everyone from pantsula dancers to contemporary are welcome to submit their audition video. If you’re a singer, anything from acapella to wedding singer and hip-hop artist you are also welcome.

The judges are searching for speciality acts, such as mime artists, singers, gum boot dancers, a performance unique and different that will stand out of the crowd.
The events will be hosted by Khaya Dladla, a popular local TV personality and presenter.

Top 50 auditions will take place on Saturday the 02 of November. The top 20 announcements will take place on the 06 of November 2019 on social media. Then the top 20 will then go through to the finals which will take place on Saturday the 23 of November 2019.
