Mega Search for Local Talent:

Umlazi Mega City is fast becoming an event and entertainment venue this is fortified by the launch of the second annual Mega Talent Search. The event aims to provide a platform to showcase and support local talent from the community.

The winner of the competition, as part of their prize package, is a local return flight prize with accommodation and R30 000 spending month as well an industry mentorship workshop from EThekwini Municipality. The runner up is set to win R20 000, 3rd place wins R10 000, 4th place wins R5000 and 5th place wins R4 000.

Umlazi Mega City general manager, Siphumelele Khuzwayo, said that they are delighted to be running this event for the second year. By providing aspiring artists the opportunity to showcase their talents to a public audience the community is uplifted. The substantial prizes that we have secured from our tenants will certainly assist the winners to reach new heights. The inaugural event achieved over 400 participants and this year is sure to be even bigger. The competition is open to both beginners and professionals and there are a number of categories one can enter, so don’t miss out on this opportunity.

The judges are searching for speciality acts, such as mime artists, circus performers, buskers, and magicians a performance unique and different that will stand out of the crowd.

Hosted by Khaya Dladla, a popular local TV personality & presenter will be hosting together with judges well known in the entertainment industry.

This year due to the high level of talents will take 38 talented groups and individuals featuring talents such as R&B artists, dancers, singers, gospel choir, poetry readers, hip hop and so much more, to the ultimate final which takes place this Saturday, November 23rd 2019.

Sponsoring this year’s event is Umlazi Mega City’s tenants; Mega Super Spar ,Msinsi Travel, Vodacom KZN, Signature Cosmetics, Soviet amongst others. Media Partners are Gagazi FM, Isolezwe and Intokozo FM.
