Mayor, Cllr James Nxumalo will on Friday, 15 November 2013, award deserving citizens in the Mayoral Awards For Excellence at the ICC. The awards are given to people who have positively contributed to the development of their communities within the Municipal boundaries.
The awards have the following five categories; Crime Prevention, Promotion of Tourism, Wealth and Job Creation, Community Development, Clean Environment and Biodiversity.
The awards were developed to honour individuals, groups and organisations that make valuable contributions to the community and their efforts went unrecognised. It was then decided that the outstanding achievements of these people are recognised so that others would be motivated to work within their communities.
