Mayor conveys condolences on the passing of Justice Skweyiya

2 September 2015 by Alan

EThekwini Mayor Councillor James Nxumalo and the Executive Committee of the eThekwini Municipality have joined the rest of the country in conveying their condolences on the passing of former Constitutional Court judge‚ Thembile Lewis Skweyiya, yesterday, 1 September 2015.

Cllr Nxumalo said Skweyiya worked for the people of South Africa throughout his professional life and dispensed his responsibility as a judge with humility.

“Our City and country is poorer by the sudden departure of this legal giant. We wish to express our deepest sympathy to his family especially his wife Mrs Sayo Skweyiya and children. Thank you for sharing the glorious years of his life with the people of our country particularly during our darkest time of apartheid,” he said.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
