The man who allegedly killed his child after an argument with his girlfriend has been arrested. He is due to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court soon facing murder charges. On 17 December 2014 at about 00:30, the suspect had an argument with his girlfriend at Emaplazini area, Inanda. An angry suspect picked up a child who was sleeping at the time and hit his head against the wall. The child sustained serious head injuries and was taken to a local clinic where he died. A case of murder was opened at Inanda police station for further investigation. The suspect fled the area after the incident. An intelligence driven operation was conducted by Provincial Tracing Team, Inanda detectives, Umhlali K9 Unit assisted by Border Security KSIA and PML Unit tracing for a suspect at KwaDukuza area yesterday, 18 December 2014. The suspect (25) was arrested at Sakhamkhanye area in KwaDukuza where he was hiding and was charged for murder.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the members for their good work that led to the arrest of the suspect. She condemned such barbaric conduct by the suspect for killing an innocent child in this manner.
