Eskom has this afternoon announced a Load Reduction Alert, after losing 1200 MW of generating capacity. An appeal is made to all customers to reduce load urgently to prevent emergency load-shedding.
In the event that rotational load-shedding is invoked, please switch off all appliances to prevent overload tripping when the power does return.
Load shedding schedules will be strictly adhered to; however, some customers may be fed from alternate substations in different Blocks owing to switching operations necessitated in the normal operation of the network.
