Leadership to visit displaced foreign nationals in shelters

18 April 2015 by Alan

A team comprising of government leadership, including eThekwini Municipality Mayor Cllr James Nxumalo and members of the Executive Committee will visit new and existing shelters set up to assist displaced foreign nationals in Durban today from 10H30.

The visit is aimed at reviewing the services provided at the shelters including water, electricity, ablution facilities and primary health care.

The leadership want to ensure that the displaced are living in humane conditions especially women and children.

The purpose of the visit is also to offer the displaced a sense of hope and give them a progress report of the dialogues taking place to ensure their safe reintegration back into the communities they once lived in, as it is important that they are kept abreast of all efforts being implemented to address the violence.
