Kyocera continues the successful sponsorship – Featured Durban Blog

6 March 2017 by My Durban

Kyocera continues the successful sponsorship:

Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa has announced their continuation of their sponsorship of The Sharks. In this, the fourth year of the sponsorship, the agreement brings the company’s tailor-made document management solutions closer to potential customers across Southern Africa and the world of Super Rugby.

Recognised globally as a sporting brand leader, The Sharks have always been forerunners in innovation, match day activation and brand communication. As such, Kyocera sees the sponsorship as the perfect synergy for their global brand regionally.

“To use the words of the founder of Kyocera Corporation, Kazuo Inamori, we have always ‘possessed a challenging spirit’ and we believe The Sharks mirror our approach,” shares Wayne Holborn, general manager at Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa.

A Winning Combination

From the onset, the sponsorship has proven to be a successful one. The 2014 #wegotyourbacks campaign, which was shortlisted as a Best New Sponsorship candidate for the Discovery Sport Industry Awards 2015, saw Kyocera expanding their marketing mix to incorporate social media. Throughtout the campaign, which is still in place, they have an effective strategy of engaging with spectators of the sport, fans of the team and businesses alike through regular communication and competitions.

“We strongly believe in the ability of sports to empower, energise and inspire people to be the best they can be and use that challenging spirit. We’ll be ensuring that we bring our own ethos into play alongside that of The Sharks to bring us closer to our current and potential customers,” says Holborn.

The Kyocera logo will remain on the back of The Sharks rugby jerseys, appropriately symbolizing Kyocera’s #wegotyourbacks support. Kyocera will help improve the rugby team’s efficiency and processes both on and off the field as The Sharks continue their relationship with Kyocera as their Managed Document Solutions provider.
