Josephine Clothing Giveaway: Well it is the most wonderful time of the year after all, so I’m spoiling you again! The lovely ladies at Josephine Clothing have just launched their online store and to celebrate are giving one of my readers their choice of either the Penny Shift or the Swing Dress, in the size and colour of their choice. But first, a little bit about this homegrown Durban brand. The Josephine adventure began in 2009, when Tarryn Josephine Buttery started designing a clothing range. Fast forward 3 years and with a new family to take care of, her sister-in-law, Ally Shepherd, joined the business, after a stint in India and between them, they now run Josephine Clothing. Everything from sourcing the beautiful fabrics, to designing the garments based on trends, or what their own wardrobes call for, to managing the process with a local CMT is managed by them. Between them, they have 5 children – Tarryn has 3 boys and Ally has 2 girls – so this really is a lovely local homegrown brand, run by two awesome Durban mums. Backyard inspiration: There’s no rest for the wicked they say. Well we’re those kind of people who decide to tackle some DIY 5 days before Christmas. This time it’s the backyard that’s getting a bit of TLC – it’s been sorely neglected since we moved in and other than putting up a fence and removing tree stumps (the previous owners cut all the trees down – sob!), we’ve done nothing else! We don’t have a pool, but invested in one of those pole/plastic jobbies last year and it was a life saver, but it killed our grass in a nice big circle. So we’re going to be laying some paving and putting the pool on top of that. Needless to say I had to do some pinterest surfing for inspiration.
