SATY TV show is about showcasing extraordinary citizens making a difference in the lives of ordinary people in different spheres of life. This year the theme of the daily show is “Reflection and Progression’. The theme is chosen to mark the 40th anniversary of the June 16 Soweto uprisings and 60th Anniversary of the Women’s march to the Union buildings.
“It is about reflecting on the past and progressing to a better future as a country. The South African of the Year Awards is a pursuit to celebrate what makes us South Africans. Not a lot of countries have progressed as we have, and that is what we want to showcase through this show,” says ANN7’s Editor in Chief Moegsien Williams.
The names of this year’s international and South African artists who will perform at the gala event and media partnerships will be announced at a later date.
