Hollywoodbets grows support for KZN cricket – Featured Durban Blog

Hollywoodbets grows support for KZN cricket:

Durban – As the 2017/2018 cricket season fast approaches, Hollywoodbets, title sponsors of the Dolphins, have spread their support of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union to include both the KZN Coastal and KZN Inland teams for the upcoming Africa T20 Cup.

Hollywoodbets have been involved with the Dolphins for two seasons moving from an associate sponsor role to the title sponsors last season and Devin Heffer, Media and Communications Executive at Hollywoodbets, felt that increasing their involvement in the KZN Cricket union was an easy decision to make.

“Hollywoodbets has built a tremendous relationship with the KZN Cricket Union through our sponsorship of the Dolphins franchise and our contributions to development cricket – through our community programs and cricket club sponsorships,” Heffer said.

“We were approached by the KZNCU to sponsor both the KZN Coastal and KZN Inland teams in the Africa T20 Cup, extending our sponsorship to the amateur setup. Our commitment is to build strong amateur teams that will ultimately lead to a strong franchise team.”

“We believe that through our sponsorship, the KZNCU will be able to invest in the province’s up and coming cricketers, providing better facilities, equipment and coaching to these future stars.

“The Africa T20 Cup is also a great opportunity for these cricketers to showcase their talent, especially those on the brink of breaking into the franchise setup.”

Chief Executive Officer of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union Heinrich Strydom echoed Heffer’s words when he spoke about the impact that this sponsorship will have on the growth of the game in KZN.

“The Hollywoodbets brand brings with it an incredible passion and professionalism, and we are extremely proud to be associated with it,” Strydom commented.

“The fact that the brand will now be extended to our two semi-pro teams speaks volumes about their commitment to spreading the game to all areas of KZN.”

Ritesh Ramjee, KZN Coastal Amateur Manager, believes that the players will be representing more than just their province when they take part in the Africa T20 Cup.

“Having a sponsor will not only be a great financial boost but it also helps in creating an identity for the team.

“Being Hollywoodbets KZN Coastal or Hollywoodbets KZN Inland gives us a more professional approach and that has the potential to rub off on the players,” Ramjee said.

For the Amateur Manager of KZN Inland Cricket Jason Sathiaseelan this new sponsorship is a significant step in raising the profile of amateur cricket.

“We are incredibly grateful for the injection that Hollywoodbets will give to cricket at KZN Inland.

“Amateur cricket needs this sort of sponsorship to help give it the exposure that it needs,” he added.

The Hollywoodbets KZN Coastal team get their Africa T20 Cup competition underway this coming weekend, 8 to 10 September, when they play in Pool C against hosts Northern Cape, Free State and Kenya at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.

The following weekend, 15-17 September, will see the Hollywoodbets KZN Inland team play in Pool D against Border, Boland and Zimbabwe at Buffalo Park in East London.
