Hi-tec #WalkMyCity Rocked: I absolutely loved hosting the Hi-tec #WalkMyCity Durban event last weekend! 30 people joined me on a very leisurely stroll around Morningside, taking in the sights of the neighbourhood and stopping for coffee at some of our city’s finest coffee shops. Thank you to everyone who joined in and to Hi-tec for the inspiration and prizes! On the day I gave out some cool spot prizes sponsored by Hi-tec, including a pair of their latest Badwater Cozy sneakers which were won by Aruna Badal, and Hi-tec chose their favourite pic on social media, to gift another pair, which was won by Shanita Carter. All in all a hugely successful morning spent socialising, sipping and strolling! Volpes arrives in KZN: I recently had the opportunity to visit KZN’s first Volpes store, which has opened at the new Ballito Junction shopping mall. Their range caught me eye on previous trips to Cape Town and I wanted to kit my bed out for winter with a quilt, as have always wanted one. Flip I was spoiled for choice – there were so many options! Ended up going with a neutral soft grey and then accessorising with a chunky dark grey knitted throw and some new sheeting and pillow cases. If a bedroom is supposed to be your sanctuary, I definitely achieved that and pretty much want to spend all my waking hours in mine now! Volpes have a huge range, including bedroom linen, curtains and towels in plains, prints and a variety of textures. They’ve also got a selection of scatter cushions and lamps, so accessorising your space is a cinch. My bed now looks like one of those catalogue ones, with a few layers and not just one stingy duvet, plus the throw we got is reversible, so I can change the look up with just one flip.
