Hard work the order of day one in East London

East London – The Hollywoodbets Dolphins had to work hard for their wickets throughout day one of their 4-Day Franchise Series clash at Buffalo Park against the Warriors as the hosts ended 325 for five.

It was a dream start for the visitors after they lost the toss. Gihahn Cloete was bowled by Eathan Bosch in the first over of the day.

From there it was the Eddie Moore and Yaseen Vallie show as the pair put on 216 for the second wicket, with both players scoring centuries.

It was only after tea that the Dolphins tasted success and they managed to bag three fairly quick wickets.

On 216 for one Moore was the first to fall, caught Prenelan Subrayen off Keith Dudgeon for 102. Then with the total on 217 his partner Vallie was dismissed by seamer Dudgeon for 110.

18 runs later captain of the Warriors Jon-Jon Smuts was dismissed. Caught by Sarel Erwee off the bowling of Subrayen.

There was another partnership from the hosts as Matthew Breetzke and Lesiba Ngoepe added 77 for the fifth wicket before the latter was run out for 39.

Breetzke and Sinethemba Qeshile took their side to stumps with the score on 325 for five.

The pick of the Dolphins bowlers was Dudgeon who bagged two for 60 while Bosch and Subrayen both picked up a wicket each.
